Doors are here!

The doors have arrived and they are in the house. Thank you to the awesome delivery man from the Door Store: he carried them up both flights of stairs and into the shop. The front door had to be carried up one more flight to the upstairs because it won’t fit in the shop. My back hasn’t recovered from the sprain that I got when we brought the beam in the house, so I was very happy that he brought the doors in- I really didn’t want to leave them by the curb until I found some helpers to carry them up the stairs. Here’s a picture of our current front door and the new front door that was just delivered…

I am very excited about the doors and can’t wait to start finishing them. Since the doctor said I can’t move the doors, I’ll have to settle for scraping off as much of the caulk around the windows as I can until Nick gets home and sets one of them up for me so I can start the refinishing!

The old door looks like a similiar style to our basement door. I’m trying to find a used door, I’m not feeling I’ll find one in my price range. My boss has one in the back of the office, similiar to the new one, with leaded glass. He said he got it for $150, the challenge is to find one that fits, and doesn’t cost a fortune.

that will be such a nice door to come home to- I love your door. I am sorry to hear you hurt your back but glad you are following doctor’s orders (I always do).

Can’t wait to see that door installed!

That’s beautiful! I think your house will be much happier with that on it’s face.
