One of the sites I keep finding my way back to is HistoricProperties.com. The site lists historic properties (largely in the South), of varying condition and price. My favorite search is “up to $100,000, project-house”.

Here’s one for $5000.

    Geez - I bet it’s worth $5k for the salvaged parts alone! Hope someone buys these pretties and returns them to their former glory. And fixes the neon purple paint job.

    I’ve been to Danville- not much to do there. *** Van *** was from Danville. I always like to look at the homes listed in the back of Old House Journal- they have some great bargains as well. Sometimes I think when I retire, I could buy one and restore it- but my back will be gone by then-haha.
