Plugging away
As I type this Nick is “plugging” any of the little holes in the concrete countertops with slurry. Or he’s buffing some of the counters, I’m not sure. Anyways, we’re plugging away on a couple of projects: Nick laid tile around the fireplace last weekend and now we just have to grout it; the countertops are getting closer to being ready to install; and I’m still battling with the dandelions.
Here’s a preview of the fireplace:

And a preview of the countertops- this is taken before any of the grinding or polishing was started. Right now they look more like soapstone.

Hopefully we’ll have polished countertops to show soon!

Hey, I didn’t realize until now that I think we’ve got the same fireplace insert. Ours isn’t trimmed out like yours yet, though. That’s a spring project (I hope).

I can’t wait to see the polished tops. I’m dragging my feet on our countertop, mostly because I’ve had a hard time getting Cheng to ship to Canada. I’m sure everything is available locally, it’s just not as easy.

Oh believe me, Derek, me too - I want to see the polished tops INSTALLED.
