Potential Energy?

I’m hoping that by doing almost nothing this week that I have somehow accumulated a bunch of potential energy. I’ll go to sleep tonight and in the morning I’ll feel like one of those wind up toys- ready to go full boar stopping only briefly for a bite to eat, and then work until the sun goes down. All this potential energy I saved up will efficiently change into kinetic energy and I will be like the Energizer Bunny! Just think what I could get done: varnishing the interior side of the front door, strip the yucky junk of the rest of the bead board, install the radiant floor tubing on the first floor and give my extra energy to Nick so he can frame in the French doors, connect the tubing to the manifold on the first floor, and take a load of stuff to the dump. Then Sunday night we’d go my sister’s for dinner, and then start our week with a sense of huge accomplishment. I wonder how many hours of sleep I need to store up enough potential energy to get all that done?

Nick here: It’s been one of those weeks. Work-work is busy right now (I got a promotion, so it figures I’d get busier…), Trissa is gearing up to get back in the classroom with her 4th graders, and a 17yo kid accellerated his vehicle into ours. It wasn’t a bad accident - really it wasn’t. $750of damage, but it’s been a headache nonetheless. 17yo didn’t have his insurance or license or anything, but he was a good kid and called just about every night to tell us he was going to pay, etc. etc. (And each time he also tried to convince us to take the car to his Uncle’s auto-body shop, about an hours drive away - not gonna happen.) When the estimate came in he figured out how broke he was and gave us his insurance info, and now we’re waiting for the adjuster to call. Like I said, it’s been one of those weeks.

In any event, we spent a little time tonight getting ready for the weekend. I used the Pigeon Point Paint Peeler for about an hour and stripped 13 pieces of bead board. And we set up the front door for varnishing tomorrow. We’ll see how much we really get done this weekend.

Greg - if you’re reading this, I loved your Legend of El Broko post today. Over here I feel like it’s been Tale of the Working Man.

I hope that your energy conversion experiment works better than ours. It’s 10:30 am and all I’ve done is a little taping for our latest painting project.

    Congrats on the promotion, Nick!

    LOL. You go!

I did almost nothing and, oila, I am still doing almost nothing. I did manage to clear an area outside this morning that was an absolute disaster area. I think it may have even qualified for FEMA funds it was so bad.

must be in the air. We are hoping for a recharge this weekend too. May the force be with you (cheesey I know but when I am tired, I’m not so clever & witty like some others -El Broko).
