Radiant Floor Tubing Tonight?

If I post that we’ll put the tubing in the QuikTrak tonight, then I am most likely to get everything cleaned up and ready to go.

Then Nick and I can put the tubing in when he gets home from work. All I have to do is put away the miscellaneous tools, clean up the piles of mail and make sure all the dishes are clean and put away. We’ll need to disconnect the dishwasher temporarily while we put the tubing in. We’ll start with the other half of the floor, but I’m hoping that this will be a fun project and we’ll get it all done tonight. It is supposed to go smoothly: we’ll put the tubing on the de-coiler,

and then one of us will put a 1/4” bead of silicone in the groove, and the other will start stepping the tubing into place. Then we’ll tap it with the rubber mallet to make sure it’s in place. Once the tubing is in, we won’t be able to procrastinate about the flooring- it has to go in fairly quickly to protect the tubing. So if you’re bored later tonight and there’s nothing good on tv and you’re not working on a project yourself, tune in to the Pigeon Point Project Webcam and maybe you’ll see some radiant floor tubing being installed! Tomorrow I can connect the tubes to the manifold and we’ll be ready to have Paul from Advanced Radiant Technology come out to bleed and test the system. Then we’ll be ready for any cold weather that may come this fall!

Hmmm, should I tell Trissa I’m going out for drinks after work?

That must have been during our dinner break. We got half of the floor done and we’ll do the other half tomorrow night. Not quite the entire floor tonight, but good progress nonetheless. I think I saw you drinking a Diet Coke on your website, KK.
