Bit by bit

Nick’s back to working on the bead board. It’s been off the ceiling of the front porch for over a year, but now that the radiant floor tubing, lighting and insulation are done, we are ready to have it installed. I hear the hand sander now, so that means he’s on the last step before it gets primed and put back up. Oh yeah- we need to sort it first by length, since there are two lengths and then he’s going to trim them first, then we’ll be ready to prime. Hopefully by the end of the day tomorrow we’ll have some pictures of the progress. It will be fun to see the porch from the street all lit up once we’re done. There hasn’t been a lot of progress on the house over the past couple of weeks as we are both back to work, Atticus is at daycare and we were out of town. We’re itching to finish this so we can get back to work on the inside. We’ll see what Atticus let’s us get accomplished!

It sounds like you’re doing your bead board by individual planks. True? If so hats off to you…we’ve done the ply style.

Yep - this is the original bead board from when the house was built. A year ago we stripped off the majority of the “paint”, which was more like a cementatious gop.
