Fun table
We built a picnic-style table for Atticus. Nick came up with the design and he let me do the cutting and most of the work. I’d like to think of myself as an apprentice- hoping to learn some of the woodworking skills that Nick has. I’ve got the sanding and finishing techniques down pat, but I’d love to start building some stuff. We used some scraps from other projects, so the only cost was the bolts and the paint. We also got to use the new paint sprayer that Nick got and I must say I REALLY LIKE IT! The clean up is a lot easier than a brush as well.
So here’s my first shot, with help. Nick figured out the legs and cut the angles for the bottoms and did the alignment of the holes. It was fun using the router for the edges. The table is a little bit big for Atticus now, but he climbs up on the chair and knows that it is his table. He will grow into it quickly and I’m sure we will get a lot of use out of it. We got the two chairs at Second Use (one of our favorite salvage yards). Not bad for $5 each.
Thanks, Nick, for letting me use your power tools!
Now I get to start thinking about the next project I want to build…Smile
