Lots of little things, and PIE
Trissa baked this rhubarb pie tonight – it’s cooling now and I can hardly wait to dig in! I’m pretty happy that even in the midst of our demolition, we can still bake pie.

It’s been a busy week with work and not much has happened around the house. With the webcam running, sometimes I’ll check in on the house around lunch time from work, and it makes me anxious for the weekend.
I’m taking tomorrow afternoon off to get an early start, with a planned trip to the bank to close on our home equity line of credit. Then on Saturday we’ll be at “The Door Store” to pick out new doors for the front, back, and future patio. We thought we might be able to get the dumpster in here in time for the weekend, but that’s been delayed until next weekend. Since we’re counting on friends to help with the demo, we figured it would be better to give them a week’s heads up anyways.
I spoke with Paul Pollets today from Advanced Radiant Technology. I blogged about his company back in April; he was the one that gave me pause with the cost of our radiant heat project. But we’ve had a few phone conversations now, and I’m pretty impressed with his work. Paul’s coming over on Wednesday morning to meet with me and get a look at our project. From there I’m hoping he’ll be able to give us a reasonable bid to install a new boiler and tank for the radiant floors, which I’m planning on installing myself (hopefully with his input and supervision). Stay tuned.

Oooh, Trissa, do post - Teague love rhubarb as well. He’d melt if I cooked this.
I can’t believe you find time to bake, with all the renovation madness going on over there. Amazing!

Hey there - looking forward to the Rhubarb pie recipe. Mine is gigantic already (my mother-in-law gave it to us from her yard before her move last year) and I’m eager to get some good recipes…I don’t know what to do with it all!

I am impressed, pie with no kitchen!
Don’t tell me you made it on the grill please. :)

The major appliances are still in place - stove & refrigerator. They’re simply too heavy to move, and if I could move them, well, where??
For anyone who scoffs at that statement, consider that it took 5 men 2 hours to get 1 refrigerator up 3 flights of stairs. And they almost didn’t make it. Having moved a piano - this was worse.
We’ll be covering the appliances with plastic next weekend when the plaster comes down…
