Punch list

So, we’ve got a bunch of little things to do, but it seems to take forever to get some done. Nick’s done a great job with the gutters, and made some good progress on the kitchen cabinets. I’m feeling like I need to get out my large tablet of paper and make a new punch list.

Then we can categorize what needs to be done. “Things that can be finished while Atticus takes a nap.” “Things that can be done at night after Atticus goes to bed.” “Things that can be done after Atticus goes to college.”

At least I’m not feeling like we need to install a temporary workbench in the kitchen again…although I kind of miss having all those tools handy!

It’s kind of nice to look at the old pictures without walls and cupboards. It makes me realize that we really have gotten a lot done…

Finishing is always the hardest part. I thought we’d finish the deck, but the weather turned sour, and now we’ll be finishing the staining/varnishing next year. Oh well, I have a lot of projects I can finish inside. I think it’s time for new punch lists.

You can always keep a few of those tools handy in the kitchen even when the toolbench is gone.

Making mashed potatoes with a 1/2” drill and a cement mixer attachment is the only way to go !

    Grin!

With Thanksgiving coming up and being from a large family, that’s a great idea! Once we used a blow torch to light the candles on my mom’s birthday cake. That didn’t go so well!

Atticus could be in college before you know it.
