Slowly
So things are progressing, albeit slowly, on this baby thing. If I am not in active labor by tomorrow morning, they will schedule me for an induction. So once we got home from the hospital today, Nick and I started to put the second coat of paint on the trim of the upstairs hallway. As long as we have to sit around and wait, we might as well get something done. Nick’s plan is to paint the hallway floor as soon as I go into labor so it will then have time to dry while we are at the hospital. I have a feeling if the contractions come on strongly and quickly I am not going to be patient enough to wait for a coat of paint. It’s a great idea, but realistically I’m not sure it will happen. So we’re headed for dinner at my brother and sister-in-laws and if we feel like it we’ll get back to painting later tonight. They say distractions are good. Stay tuned to find out about the baby!

Whooo! Go Trissa! You never know about the paint thing. I wanted to go to the hospital at the last possible moment because I wanted to be in more control over if I got to eat and so forth. (Our hospital had strict policies.) I went into labor at 2 am on a Monday morning but I thought it was false labor even though I couldn’t sleep through it. Sent Aaron to work. Did some laundry. Called a lot of people. What a goon I was. I would brace myself on the washer and think, “Man, for false labor, this sure is ouchy.” We went to the hospital at 9 pm that evening and had Miss Grace at 3 am on Tuesday morning. You might be surprised!

ella was 10 days late and had to be induced (which was not fun- stronger contractions), and seth 4 days late… the epidural is your friend and will make a long labour more tolerable and you’ll be able to get some rest (as long as the cord isn’t around the baby’s neck- like seth) before the real work begins!

Sounds like you’re in the same boat I am. I’m headed in this afternoon for another check up and I’m wondering if he’ll induce me (he said something to that effect on Tuesday). So I’ve been busily doing laundry and cleaning up around here. Now I just have to pack a bag to take a long “just in case.”
