Weekly Poll - June 12th, 2005

Gah. We got so much done this weekend that this Weekly Poll post is late. Normally I do the Weekly Poll while lying in bed with my coffee on Sunday mornings. This weekend I didn’t get to the computer even once.

I must not have done a great job picking job categories. 30% of the 40 voters chose “Other”; nearly another third (28%) are in some sort of Computers or IT. This doesn’t surprise me too much. If you’re a blogger or you read blogs, you must at least like computers. The next largest category is Education, at 15%.

Trissa and I must be the quintessential renovator-house-blogger types, since I’m in software (30%), and she’s a teacher (15%).

While I was working on our framing yesterday I suddenly realized that my work area was in disarray, with too many tools scattered about. I wasn’t wearing my toolbelt, and tools were everywhere. Normally I’m a bit less messy, and it was frustrating having to look for things like the measuring tape for more than 30 seconds. This week’s poll question is: How clean and organized do you keep your project work area?

My idea of organization is chunking everything in a box at the end of the work day.

Hmm, I don’t really see a catagory that fits me. I’m not neat, but not disorganised. I start out with everything in it’s place, but end up losing stuff from time to time. I don’t always clean everything up at the end of the day, I sometimes just put all the tools in the corner, ready for the next day, instead of putting them all away.

Derek - I added a category just for you: Good Intentions. :)
