Where's my motivation?
My motivation is missing this morning. If you see it, please send it my way - I need it to get started on a list of projects. Until it shows up, I’ll be stuck in this chair drinking coffee and surfing the Internets.
Seriously, the list is long. I could be:
- Re-plumbing the 1st floor bathroom, which we roughed in for a 10” toilet but is now inadequate for the 12” toilet we want to buy
- Completing the sophet framing that I started last weekend
- Install glass in the kitchen window so we can take down the depressing plywood that is blocking our view of the sideyard
- Order the bamboo flooring for the kitchen
- Build the cabinet that houses the refrigerator and wall oven
There’s more, but my motivation to write the list is waning.
Again, if you see my motivation, please tell it to head home immediately.

Nope—haven’t seen it. Must have escaped with mine for a little breather.
Don’t fret—everyone needs to regroup from time to time.

we’re feeling the same way over here… everytime derek puts a wall up, there’s some kind of obstacle (usually electrical) which takes hours (no joke) to fix before he can continue building.
you’ll pick up the pace soon enough!

I agree. It is hard to keep up the motivation some days, but you have to look at the progress. Sometimes it helps to step back and say, Wow! We’ve really done a lot to this old house. You’ve also got a long to do list, which is common for anyone fixing up a house. One thing we did when rehabbing an 80-year-old house is divide the list into “quick” projects and long projects. Anytime we’d get discouraged with the long projects we’d switch to a few quick and fairly easy projects so we could see results. Good luck!
