I hope we don't forget something.
Each day we’re getting closer to the drywall stage for the first floor revovation. It looks like we might just make it in under a year from the beginning of the demolition to the drywall stage. Not bad, considering all the projects we weren’t planning on having to do. Those include leveling the subfloor by the front of the house, removing the main plumbing stack, some foundation work where the support beam rests so we could open up the wall between the kitchen and living room, etc… I remember being glad when we were past what we thought was the “demo” stage. So now I keep going through all that we’ve done and what might still need to be done before the sheetrock goes up, in hopes of preventing any “demo” of the drywall to add something we forgot. I think we’re okay- wiring, plumbing, speaker wire, heating, lighting, and we’re deciding this week about installing an alarm system. Yesterday Nick installed more insulation in the ceiling and I think the plan today is to finish putting insulation in the ceiling. I don’t think we’ll meet our goal of having the drywall installed by the end of April, but we’ll be close. We’ve got another huge project that will begin at the end of April so we know work on the first floor will come to a halt at that time.
